Who hasn't sung their favorite song in the car as if they were on stage in front of millions of people? Singing and dancing is an option chosen by many to liven up car trips , whether alone or with family and friends. McDonald's has structured its spot for the 2021 Super Bowl around these fun scenes . In a 30-second piece, we see several people in different cars singing well-known and catchy songs as they head to McDonald's to order their menu. The objective of the brand? Thank all the people who have opted for the drive-thru , the key service for the brand during the coronavirus pandemic, when all stores had to remain closed to stop infections. The spot "Thank You For Driving Thru " is signed by the creative agency Wieden+Kennedy and features legendary songs such as "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers or "It's All Coming Back to Me Phone Number List Now" by Celine Dion. «Thank you for turning up the volume, turning on the flashing lights and moving on to the next window. Thanks for Driving Thru," says McDonald's in the description that accompanies its spot for the Big Game, which will be released next Sunday, February 7. This ad was inspired by a moment that many of us share: visiting the drive-thru in 2020 while singing our favorite songs in our cars,” says Jennifer Healan, vice president of marketing for the brand in the US, according to Adweek . “These are the little things people love about McDonald’s ,” she adds. In 2020, the company launched the "Famous Orders" ad during this sports show , a piece in which the favorite menus of celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Whoopi Goldberg and Millie Bobbie Brown were paraded, as well as fictional characters such as Marty McFly or The Invisible Man.
